Mike Bradbury Design is an architect’s practice based in the heart of Penzance. It is run by Mike Bradbury and his wife and business partner, Janet White. Their objective is to provide a very personal architectural service to a select client group with interesting design challenges.
Mike has practiced in Cornwall for over 30 years and is a former chairman of the RIBA Cornwall Branch and South Western Region. He is a founder member of the St.Ives company, Poynton Bradbury Wynter Cole, where he still acts as a consultant. Mike has a wide range of contacts throughout the county in both private and public sectors and has a wealth of experience to offer new clients. The practice works closely with a network of consultants in West Cornwall so has access to a supporting team of fellow professionals and technicians.
Janet is a former senior civil servant and brings management and specialist business knowledge to the practice. She also has a number of relevant skills such as interior design and knotweed control – and has recently been congratulated by the Environment Agency for a Flood Evacuation Plan. She has enjoyed working with Mike on a succession of self-build construction projects including the recently completed Tremayne Lodge.
Outside MBD, both Mike and Janet have a range of other interests. Both have been active in the charitable sector by raising funds through a series of challenges. Mike is a keen cyclist and has completed a Paris to Nice ride in 2012. He enjoys sailing, walking and pulling out the sketch book on holiday. Janet has a soft furnishing workshop and is able to add a few finishing touches to the end of a successful project.
